Yesterday morning while having breakfast, we noticed a visitor looking for his/her breakfast! There are normally lots of very small birds that hang out around these bushes... likely the reason for this amazing visit. When he flew away, his wing span was about 3 1/2 - 4 feet!

very cool pic! i am always amazed at how much more majestic and awe-inspiring it is to come face to face with these big birds cause they seem a lot bigger in person than when you see them flying from a distance!

Awesome pic! I love hawks!!
On this go-round his hunting didn't appear to be successful. He kept trying to get further down into the holly bush, but his size (and likely the sharp points on the leaves) kept him from doing so. Not only that, there weren't any feathers scattered about. ;-)
