Dog to Owner: "My turn to drive!"

Further proof that not all humans should be allowed to have pets.  Prior to pet ownership, there should be a test that requires a minimum level of intelligence.  This poor dog was oblivious to the danger of hanging more than half way out of a car going 50MPH though.  He was biting at the air, tongue flapping in the wind, sniffing and checking out the cars driving by.  I'm hoping he was marking his territory at this point in this picture.

Amish Rebels

Um, would this be considered the luxury pickup truck of Amish world?
No cars allowed but seats from cars are just fine? I dunno, but these
two rebels will surely 'burn in hell' for this!

Is this anything???????????

OK... I didn't actually take this pic. This is a test. A test to see if you will laugh at the Dick-Nosed Monkey.

Did ya?

Spanglish is fun

I know that if I were called upon to create a sign in Spanish it would be equally as wrong as these fine examples but it doesn't change the fact that poor translations are funny:

Porno for Porki?

Im not really sure who this calendar is supposed to be marketed to... Is this a sexy calendar for pigs or have the bad guys from the 'Deliverance' movie really been neglected in the wall calendar market?

bad cat

as part of our ongoing insect theme we found this bad boy in the yard. talk about a hefty caterpillar! and he acts tough too by thrashing around and trying to nail you with his faux arse-horn.
as tasty as he looks we decided to forgoe the protein and allow him to continue on his way.
see what he will turn into here:

Does this have something to do with square dancing?

Mmm... breakfast

This is a Leland Michigan establishment's take on the classic Bloody
Mary. That's a smoked chubb rising defiantly from the pint glass (and
less prominently, a pickle spear, olive, and lemon wedge).

It is my happy privilege to present to you--The Chubby Mary

Three Blind Mice

Specimen #1 was found clinging to some jeans in our old washer. We had left the lid open overnight to soak some clothes and this guy fell in and spent the night soaked in cold water. I grabbed him using some leather gloves and snapped this pic before driving him way down the road to release him (I figured he had suffered enough)

Specimen #2 is one for close examination and was found on a customer's porch. How it got there and why only the outer layer of skin is gone (revealing it's tiny innards) is curious indeed. It will be interesting to see if it is still there in August when I go back!

Specimen #3 would leave a CSI team perplexed! This mouse has been squished in this garage door at Menards Illinois Rd for over 5 years!!! In fact it has become rather infamous and customers often bring new friends to gaze upon the macabe tableau. How did it get this way and how has it remained so intact we may never know. Feel free to speculate!

manger madness

this nativity scene is on main street Busco and we always get a kick out of it each year. you'll wanna zoom in to see all the wonderful details which include:

  • 3 giant wise men who are double the size of joseph and mary
  • everyone is tied to trees and stakes with bungie cords
  • a rotweiler sitting beside the tiny little cow
  • some sort of stone nymph hovering behind baby jesus

wow what a tribute to our King!

It can only be beat by the mother of all nativity scenes we saw in Ecuador!:

dog gone funny (not)

  • Yes, this is a real dog.
  • Yes, this truck is doin 55 mph on the highway.
  • No, this dog is not tied or attached to the truck in any way.
  • Yes, this dog could fly off if the farmer hit the brakes very hard.
  • Yes, this is a good way to lose a dog

But it was pretty cool to see!

The Cat Whisperer... or so it seemed

After many attempts to gain the affections of a little cat named "Baggy", Mitch finally drew her in. It started out well... she sat there seemingly enjoying the attention, but then Baggy turned the tables on Mitch, zapping him with her laser eyes. Perhaps she should be renamed "The Mitch Whisperer...?"

    Ants Love Cheetos... who knew!

Within moments of this Cheeto morsel hitting the patio, ants came from everywhere to carry it away. They literally carried it away... and amazingly quickly. I was so impressed I actually got a little bit of video to show their speed. Kinda reminds me of me when stumbling upon a good bottle of wine.. "mine... mine... mine... mine"

BTW... there's now a word for the orange stuff you get all over your fingers when you eat cheetos... its called "cheetle". Can you imagine being covered with the stuff as these ants must have been?

    Hawk! (not tony)

Yesterday morning while having breakfast, we noticed a visitor looking for his/her breakfast! There are normally lots of very small birds that hang out around these bushes... likely the reason for this amazing visit. When he flew away, his wing span was about 3 1/2 - 4 feet!

    I Am The Walrus

Notice how a walrus at the Indianapolis Zoo makes the little boy in the blue hoodie mimic him. The boy crosses his arms just as the walrus has his flippers crossed. "Look mom, I look just like the walrus!" I bet this walrus has hours of laughs each day watching the stupid humans on the other side of the glass, do tricks. :-)
